What is Research?
Research is the systematic, controlled method of determining if the processes, measurement devices, measurement techniques and interventions are doing what we believe they are doing.

Clinicians conduct research daily – every time a test or measurement is recorded, whether it’s a patient’s response to a question, a treatment result, or a measurement obtained to make a diagnosis or to determine progress. This data is used to make a treatment decision for the current patient and those results serve as the context for treating the next patient with a similar presentation. More importantly, many people are looking to research-based clinical practices for quality assurance, so it is imperative that our providers and patients have data supporting our efforts.

The Institute for Clinical Outcomes and Research (ICOR)
ICOR stands for the Institute for Clinical Outcomes and Research. ICOR helps with developing clinical research questions, data collection, statistical analysis, abstract and manuscript development, presentation development and grant writing.

Our mission is to identify, collect, analyze and disseminate clinically-based metrics in order to assist in the provision of high-quality treatment and outcomes of patient care. Our vision is to facilitate Lexington Clinic providers in using evidence-based interventions, resulting in high-quality patient care and outcomes. Ultimately, ICOR will enhance all clinician practices within Lexington Clinic by providing the means for capturing and disseminating data which will in turn allow clinicians to make informed decisions about evaluation and treatment approaches that is best for each patient.
