With two locations in Central Kentucky, you’re able to get the care you need, close to home. Both the Markey Cancer Center at Lexington Clinic in Lexington and Richmond are hospital-based departments of the University of Kentucky Hospital, also known as UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital. Our Lexington location offers medical oncology and chemotherapy services, while our Richmond location offers radiation therapy, medical oncology and chemotherapy.
Patient FAQs
For patients receiving care at the Markey Cancer Center at Lexington Clinic, your providers will remain the same throughout the duration of your care. If you are eligible for advanced cancer care and/or clinical trials, you may need to receive that treatment on the UK campus. For those patients receiving care on UK’s campus, your medical oncologist may still be a part of your treatment plan and will oversee and monitor your treatments.
The Markey Cancer Center at Lexington Clinic further strengthens Lexington Clinic’s commitment to perfecting the patient experience. UK Markey Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center in Kentucky and one of fewer than 60 across the nation. Under this collaboration, patients benefit from enhanced specialty pharmacy services, supportive treatment services, clinical trials and more.
Lexington Clinic Cancer Center providers and physicians will provide services within the UK Markey Cancer Center at Lexington Clinic. For patients receiving care on the Lexington Clinic campus, your providers will remain the same throughout the duration of your care. If you are eligible for advanced cancer care and/or clinical trials, you may need to receive that treatment on the UK campus. For those patients receiving care on UK’s campus, your medical oncologist may still be a part of your treatment plan and will oversee and monitor your treatments.

Markey Cancer Center at Lexington Clinic patients can be referred through EPIC or EpicCare Link.
Referring Patient FAQs
Under the new collaboration, UK Markey Cancer Center at Lexington Clinic will include medical oncology and infusion services currently provided in Lexington; the radiation therapy services and the medical oncology and infusion services in Richmond will also be delivered in coordination with the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center. UK HealthCare is the clinical enterprise for the university. The collaboration will begin June 24.
