Online Sharing of Your Medical Images
Why Use PowerShare?

Lexington Clinic now makes it easy for you to share or request a copy of your images electronically or securely upload your medical images to PowerShare™. Once you set up a PowerShare account, you can:

  • Gain access to the images you have requested Lexington Clinic to upload to your PowerShare account.
  • Access your images from anywhere, at any time, with any device.
  • Upload and share non-Lexington Clinic image studies with Lexington Clinic.
  • Share your images with doctors and specialists as needed.
  • Upload past exams from personal CDs to your account.
  • Your privacy is protected. When using your account, all Internet. communication between your web browser and the PowerShare network is encrypted to make sure that no one can see your medical information. This information will never be disclosed or used without your consent.
  • Your medical records are never accessible to anyone except the people you have specified. The access you grant to others can be revoked at any time.

Lexington Clinic does require its patients to authorize the release of image studies. This is an additional step to ensure your privacy. For the best experience, it is recommended to use the Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge browser.

To Access Your Images

Release of Information Procedures

The Radiology Release of Information Department is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Our staff can be contacted at +1 (859) 258-4047Please click here for the Radiology Release of Information Form.

  • We request that you allow a minimum of 24 hours to process your request for the release of radiology images.
  • Radiology images that are loaned out for pick-up will be waiting at the radiology check-in desk on the 1st floor of the main building at 1221 South Broadway, unless other arrangements are made.
  • If picking up images, proper identification and/or written authorization from the patient will be required prior to the images being released.
 
Written requests of written authorizations must contain the following information:
  • Addressed to the Lexington Clinic.
  • Specifically identify the patient.
  • Specifically identify the recipient of the information. Medical record information will not be released to a person who is not indicated on the release form.
  • Specifically identify the information to be released.
  • Signed by the patient or his/her legal representative.
  • Be received within one year of the date of the signature and the date of the request for information.
  • Indicate if the images are to be picked up by the requester or mailed to the address given.
 
Who can sign a patient authorization?
  • Patient
  • Legal representative
  • In the case of a minor (under 18 years of age), the parent or guardian should sign the authorization.
  • In the case of a minor (under 18 years of age) whose parents are divorced, the custodial parent should sign any authorization.
  • In the case of a disabled patient, the Power of Attorney (POA) can sign the authorization, but a copy of the POA must accompany the request.
  • In the case of a deceased patient, the administrator or executor of estate can sign the authorization.
 
Verbal Requests

When a verbal request (phone call) is received for the release of medical information, the requestor is informed that a release of medical information authorization form will be required prior to processing of the request unless the images are to be picked up by the patient. If the images are to be picked up by the patient, the request can be processed and a release of information signed by the patient at the time of pick up. If images are to be mailed, the release form can either be faxed or mailed to the Lexington Clinic.

Register and Login to Powershare

  1. Once your authorization has been processed, you will receive an email from Nuance PowerShare Support. Follow the link to access the PowerShare registration page. Complete all required fields, check all boxes and click the “Continue” button.
  2. TIP: Store the login page at https://www1.nuancepowershare.com as a ‘Favorite’ in your browser to simplify future access.
  3. After registering and logging in you will arrive at the PowerShare home screen. https://widgets.nuancepowershare.com/easyupload/frc Need LC's Link for Upload tool
  4. Click the tab labeled Images in order to access your images.
  5. Select the image(s) you would like to view by clicking on the thumbnail of the study. The clinical viewer will appear in a separate window.

When you are finished viewing your images, after clicking the “X” to close the image, be sure to also click Sign Out in the upper right to end your session.

Share Images with Your Non-Lexington Clinic physician

  1. When logged into PowerShare, from the Images tab, select the image you want to share and choose Copy from the menu options on the right.
  2. You will be prompted to confirm the image copy at a $0.00 cost. Select Confirm and the process will begin to transfer this image to your account for the purpose of sharing with others. You will receive a message upon completion.
  3. Once the copy is complete, the image will become part of your My Images folder and will be enabled for sharing. Select the image and choose Share these Images from the menu on the right of your screen.
  4. Select Search for a new contact to locate the recipient. An Advanced Search will display. You must select the category of either Facility, Physician or Patient and optionally complete any additional fields to refine and expedite your search. Click Search.
  5. Select Share for the correct recipient.

NOTE: There are 3 possible status associated with a contact:

In your contacts – already a connection; will be able to view your image once you click ‘Share’

Not in your contacts – in PowerShare but not a connection; clicking ‘Share’ will trigger the invitation process

Not in PowerShare – does not have a PowerShare account; clicking ‘Share’ will trigger the invitation process

Select all check boxes and click Invite in order to request a connection and share your image with this recipient. The recipient will need to confirm your request and will then have immediate access to the image you have shared.

Upload Your Images to Lexington Clinic Radiology

If you want to share images studies that were taken outside of Lexington Clinic Radiology, you may upload your images to PowerShare.

  1. Access PowerShare's Easy Upload tool - Need LC's Link for Upload tool
  2. Enter your email address or phone number
  3. Click Send Authentication Code to receive an authentication code
