Travel Medicine Services

Travel-related injury and illness can be minimized through proper planning and prevention. The Lexington Clinic Travel Medicine Service is available to discuss your specific travel plans and medical needs. Although appointments are available on short notice, calling for a scheduled visit as soon as your travel arrangements have been made allows for optimal time to complete your trip preparation.

The staff of the Lexington Clinic Travel Medicine Service provides consultation, administers vaccinations, and prescribes appropriate trip-related medications for each patient/traveler. Whether plans involve business, pleasure, adventure, mission, or education, each patient will receive a review of their personal health history, immunization status, travel itinerary, and personal preferences in preparation for their journey. Advice is offered on vaccines, medications, and safety precautions to ensure optimal trip-related illness and injury prevention. Every visit is individualized in detail.

Dr. Gregory Snider, Occupational Medicine Head of Section and the Director of the Travel Medicine Service, has been granted a Certificate in Travel Health® by the International Society of Travel Medicine, the first and only such designation for a travel health provider in Kentucky.
